As you may or may not know, our Boutique Manager Melissa (me!) is heavily involved in animal rescue and the animal welfare community. I came across a fairly new 501c3 non-profit this past year that I was interested in volunteering for, SNIFF - Spay Neuter Initiative Funded by Fashionistas. I wholeheartedly believe in their mission statement:
- ¨SNIFF events are presented by “The Power of One Good Deed” which was founded in 2011 after a gap was seen within the animal welfare community - the need for spay/neuter to prevent unwanted litters. This need includes both fundraising and education. Our purpose is to support existing organizations already delivering spay/neuter services to valley companion animals. Our fundraising efforts are focused toward bringing animal lovers together with fun and productive events.¨
As I read this even now - every word stands true as the ladies behind SNIFF are ambitious and generous animal lovers who give so much of their time and effort into raising money for a dire need in Maricopa County, Spay/Neuter. I am in constant awe of the collaborative efforts each one of the women on the Board of Directors put forth into making SNIFF the huge success it is today.
That in turn is why I want all of you to know the wonderful event coming up for SNIFF. It is their biggest fundraiser of the year, with last year’s event raising $30,000 or 461 spay/neuter surgeries!! This year SNIFF hopes to raise even more money - but we need your help!
