While the holiday season is almost just around the corner, you wouldn’t want to spoil the merry making with tantrums from your pets. It’s true that these cute little creatures make the occasion a little more special but without proper knowledge of how to keep them calm and comfortable during the holiday season, your “Happy HOWL-idays” might definitely not be so happy.

With that said, here are five tips to help your pets be happy and healthy in the middle of all the festivities.

1. Drunk Pets are No Fun
Don’t ever dare try to give your fur babies alcohol, neither should you leave such drinks unattended within the reach of your pets. These drinks will poison your fur babies without them knowing!

2. Dress Up, You Fur Ball!
Your pets will most likely be feeling cold due to the weather most specially if they’re small and short-haired. You might want to slip them in pet coats or sweaters to keep their bellies warm! It will make them feel all comfy and cozy, so less tantrums, more fun!

3. Boom Boom Scares
Fireworks sounds scare your pets and sometimes even make them feel crazy and upset. In circumstances when fireworks or firecrackers are about to be lit up, keep your pets in a quiet, escape-proof room so that they stay calm. Handing them toys to play with will also help them get through the noises as they will be focused on something else.

4. My Rules, Our Rules.
Share your house rules with guests and relatives in order for your pet to avoid being fed with food that might potentially harm them. It will not just keep your pets safe through the season, but also will keep your house from messing up to max.

5. Hydrate, Mate!
Our pets’ bodies adjust to the weather temperature and it eats up a lot of their energy. Never forget to check on that cool, fresh water all the time and make sure that this is easily available for your pets to keep them hydrated.

Should you see a difference in your pet’s energy level or attitude after the holiday season, bring them to the vet right away for check-up!

May you all have a happy HOWL-iday!
