Leave it to folks on social media to share the most unique ways they groom their pets at home! As much as we love when you visit one of our four Puff & Fluff locations, we know that you need to maintain your pet’s appearance in between visits. However, it can be tough to get your furry friends to cooperate! Luckily, fellow animal lovers have shared their neat tips and we thought we’d share them with y’all. Grab a jar of peanut butter and read on for the most innovative ways to groom your pet at home!

Don’t Grab the Bubbles Without the Butter

Peanut butter, that is! Does your pup absolutely hate taking a bath? Some dogs love the water while others are terrified of it. So, how do you groom a dirty dog who is skittish around suds? You distract them, of course! Simply grab a jar of peanut butter and smear a good amount on the wall of your tub. Make sure the peanut butter is at mouth-level for your pup. Now, your dog will be too distracted by this tasty treat to even care that you’re busy washing away all the mud he or she has been rolling in!

Don’t Grab the Clippers Without the Hammock

Have you ever tried to cut your dog’s nails? It’s no easy feat! They can squirm and move, making it quite dangerous as you risk cutting the nail too far or cutting their paws. Did you know they make special dog hammocks to aid in nail cutting? That’s right! The idea is that the dog is hanging (safely, of course!) and is unable to really kick back or squirm, making your job much easier. Plus, it’s easy to make these hammocks yourself out of old reusable bags. Of course, the folks at Puff & Fluff are always happy to cut those pesky nails!

While there are many helpful tips and products to groom your pets at home, it’s always best to leave it to the experts if you feel uncomfortable or unsure about certain techniques. If your pet is especially squeamish, be sure to inform your groomer before leaving your pet in their hands.

Treat your pet to a spa day and stop in any one of our four Puff & Fluff locations! We’d love to meet your furry friends!
