We’re sure that at least once in your social media timeline, you’ve seen posts or articles about pets being abandoned or not cared for by their owners. And these posts raise awareness on how irresponsible some people can be when it comes to having pets and how animals suffer because of it, so we also want to join in.
When we see dogs or any other animal, we usually think of how cute and fun it will be to have one. So most of us impulsively adopt a pet without realizing the responsibilities that comes with it. And it shouldn’t be that way. One should assess carefully if one is fit to have a pet. Time, money, lifestyle etc should all be taken into consideration. No one should adopt a pet with the sole reason of having a cute thing to carry around when you go out or take pictures of. Animals are real living creatures that should be loved and cared for. They are not to be treated as accessories or like a toy but a part of your family.
But if in any case you really thought you could take care of your pet at first but due to recent changes in your life like having a new job and you won’t have time to take care of it or you lost a job and you are no longer financially capable to give it its needs then by all means ask for help. There are a lot of organizations that will be glad to take the responsibility from you if it means that the animal will have a better chance at life. There are also a lot of pet lovers whom we are sure would be glad to adopt more and grow their family.
Always remember that dogs or some animals don’t live as long as we do… for most dogs, we are their whole lives so let’s all be responsible when adopting a pet and make sure that we can take care and love them completely.
